5 Feet of 2.6mm Eco Cotton Wick for Oil Lamps and Candles

The replacement wicks are made of 2.6mm tubular, braided cotton, and are 5 feet long. They are suitable for oil lamps and lanterns and can be cut to the required length. These wicks fit Firefly Aura Petite, Bliss Petite, Transcend, Ethereal, Zen, Zen Petite, Tea Lights, and all Votives, but they are not suitable for tiki torches. It's important to note that Firefly Pillar Candles use a 3.6mm wick. Before use, the wick should be completely soaked to ensure it burns the fuel and not the wick itself. We recommend using petroleum-based fuels such as Firefly Paraffin Lamp Oil or Firefly CLEAN Lamp Oil. Other options such as vegetable oils, mineral oil, or alcohol should not be used.

A PDF is provided with detailed instructions on how to thread the wick into a Firefly Wick Holder, and there are also instructional videos available online. When using the wick, it should protrude slightly from the aluminum collar, and the flame will grow within 5 minutes. If adjustments are needed, wait 5 minutes to allow the aluminum collar to cool before making any changes. The wick should be placed in the fuel and allowed to soak for a minute or two before lighting. If the wick produces smoke, it is likely too high and should be adjusted to slightly above the wick holder. Trimming the wick is necessary when its performance degrades - simply twist and push up, cut off the scorched area, and untwist the wick. Failure to untwist the wick will result in poor performance.

The wicks are 2.6mm in diameter and 5 feet long, suitable for use in Firefly Oil Lamps with the exception of Pillar Candles, which use a 3.6mm wick. It's important to measure the hole diameter of the wick holder if being used with a non-Firefly oil lamp, as the wick fits holders with a 1/16-inch hole. These wicks are not intended for use in tiki torches or wine bottles, as they require a larger wick. The wicks are designed for use in oil lamps, lanterns, and candles with round wick holders, in conjunction with high-quality lamp oil like Firefly CLEAN Lamp Oil, Paraffin Lamp Oil, or other eco-friendly options.

Vegetable oils like olive oil or mineral oil are not suitable for use with these wicks, and it's important to completely soak the wick before using to avoid burning the wick instead of the fuel.
